Writer's pictureSuccess Stories

It is never too late to follow your dreamI started as a blogger at a young age.

Biography + any awards

At a very young age I began to draw stylish ladies and outfits in pencil. Fashion, Art and creativity have always been my passion and study. Which lead me to the beginning of my blogging and Instagram journey nine years ago.

From then it has been my passion to showcase, my life, my style and experiences with my followers. My biggest achievements to date are being on the front cover of Bride Magaizne, store windows of lingerie brands, featured in Vogue Mexico, L’Official USA and attending the U.K. Barbie premiere. Alongside this I have been lucky enough to have the privilege of wearing Cartier, Boodles, Farfetch, GUESS and releasing my own personal collection for COAST at Debenhams.

Sometimes it feels like a dream, but this comes with consistency, determination and hard work which has in turn has allowed many exciting experiences.

Tell us part of your success story?

My success story has been through sheer determination to work with the brands I most admire. I am a perfectionist and hard working and go above and beyond for my goals.

Hi Rachel Ward, could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?

I was born in Cheshire in the U.K and studied Fashion design for my degree. I enjoy travelling, seeing new places, cultures and meeting people from all over the world.

To relax I listen to country and western music and I weight train in my spare time. This enables me to keep a fit, healthy, strong mind and body.

How would you describe your own personal style?

When I am at home I like to relax in lounging clothes and when I am out I have a glamorous and elegant style.

Tell us about your latest project?

My latest project was for your magazine. I worked with the incredibly talented Fashion photographer Stephane Gagnard to create this beautiful editorial in the enchanting setting of hotel belle Plage. The hotel is famous for being designed by Raphael Navot – who previously headed projects at Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers, Le 39V restaurant and Silencio members’ club, all in Paris – has worked with the FAAR architecture studio to bring a dreamlike tranquillity to the project. The hotel brings modern and new life to the French riviera to which was a 1960’s original hotel. The three combined together brings life to my photos and creates an enchanting story.

What inspires you most in your work?

The finished photoshoot and how I feel I have created and styled the vision. I also get my inspiration from other creators on the internet, seeing new trends as I travel and the way other people style an outfit together. All of which inspires me.

What do you love most about blogging?

Interacting with my followers, receiving their opinions and making memories.

What is the greatest statisfaction of being a fashion blogger?

The doors that is has opened, networking and the opportunities it has given me to be able to work all over the world.

What would you describe the biggest challenge in fashion blogging?

How influencers can be misunderstood understood negatively. Sometimes people and the press do not understand how much work is actually involved to become successful and create the images that we do and believe we are handed everything on a plate. It involves long hours, deadlines, contracts and not always such a glamorous reality.

A fashion rule you never break?

In the fashion industry it is good to break the rules and be unique.

I stay true to myself and my image and what I find beautiful and attractive regardless of what others may think.

What do you think will be the big hits fashion wise for next season?

A lot of fashion is based on films and what we see on the television. For instance if there is a drama based in the 1950’s you will often see that fashion come through in the following seasons.

I think next season we will see less of high waisted jeans and opt for low rise waists as these all come back around. Also black to be introduced in summer as this is a recurring theme of the latest runways.

Where do you find the inspiration for your blog posts?

From the different countries I visit and the backgrounds and architecture I see.

What is the biggest challenge about fashion blogging?

I would say having to find a private place to change in busy locations.

Your saying favorite?

You only have one life, so live it.

A few words about our magazine?

I am honoured and grateful to be on the cover of the Milan Magaizne Succes Stories.

It is a privilege my internet presence has been noticed from Milano and my hard work and determination has been noticed. Thank you for choosing me as your cover feature.
