Everything Everywhere All at Once wins the Oscar for best picture. In the movie, a Chinese-American immigrant who is being audited by the IRS finds out that she needs to connect with versions of herself from other universes to stop a powerful being from destroying the multiverse.
Aside from this, the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once also won three awards for acting. The Academy Award for best actress went to Michelle Yeoh. Ke Huy Quan won the award for best supporting actor, and Jamie Lee Curtis won the award for best supporting actress.
Michelle Yeoh took home best actress honors
Sunday night, Michelle Yeoh won the award for best actress for her work in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. She won the award for best actress, making her the second woman of colour to do so.
In the speech that won her the award, Yeoh said, “Ladies, don’t ever let anyone tell you that your best days are behind you. This is a sign of hope and possibility for all the little boys and girls who look like me who are watching tonight.”
Brendan Fraser was named best actor at the 95th annual Academy Awards
In the 2022 movie The Whale, Brendan Fraser played an overweight man who was trying to get back in touch with his estranged daughter. His performance was so good that he won the Oscar for best actor.
Fraser talked about his career problems after he won the award. He said, “I started in this business 30 years ago, and these things didn’t come easily to me, but there was a facility that I didn’t appreciate until it stopped.” In his speech, he even thanked his director, Darren Aronofsky, for “throwing me a creative lifeline and pulling me aboard.”
Ke Huy Quan,
who was in Everything Everywhere All at Once, won the award for best supporting actor. In the last few years, he stopped acting because he didn’t have enough chances. After he accepted the award, he tried to keep his tears from falling as he talked about his life.
“My journey began on a boat,” Quan said.
I spent a year in a refugee camp, and now I’m on the biggest stage in Hollywood. People say that this kind of thing only happens in movies. I can’t believe it’s going to happen to me. This is what the Americans hope for.”
Jamie Lee Curtis
has won the Oscar for best supporting actress Oscar for the superhero comedy Everything Everywhere All at Once at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Curtis plays tax inspector Deirdre Beaubeirdre in Everything Everywhere All at Once, as well as the character's alternate-universe counterparts.
